Even a global pandemic can’t slow down college football recruiting, at least not completely.

While the NCAA has extended its dead period to May 31 due to the coronavirus, thus preventing any in-person contact between coaches and prospects, that hasn’t prevented the two sides from connecting electronically.

The Arizona Wildcats have made the best of this bad situation, offering scholarships to roughly 30 members of the 2021 recruiting class in the past few weeks. And at least one of those prospects has indicated that the interest is mutual.

Austin Booker, a 3-star defensive end from Indiana, has included the UA among the many schools he’s considering.

The exact number varies between 12 and 14, depending on which picture you look at, but Arizona is in all three images as are fellow Pac-12 schools ASU and Oregon. Washington is included in the “top 14” picture.

Booker is ranked by 247Sports as the No. 652 player in the 2021 class as well as the 37th-best weak-side defensive end and the No. 11 prospect from Indiana. Arizona offered him on March 20, with Booker praising that offer on Twitter while thanking UA assistant coaches Kyle DeVan and Stan Eggen.

Arizona is still seeking its first commitment from the 2021 class despite having offers out to more than 120 prospects.
