The Arizona Wildcats didn’t have a particularly strong showing during the early signing period in December, inking 12 players to form the base of a 2020 recruiting class that is ranked 72nd in the country and last in the Pac-12.

After formally announcing that group a few weeks back, coach Kevin Sumlin said he and his staff were far from finishing putting the 2020 class together. And on Tuesday, a big piece of that puzzle fell into place.

Arizona landed a commitment from 3-star prospect Frank Brown, an all-purpose back from Houston, beating out the likes of Michigan State, Houston, Missouri and Nebraska.

Rated by 247 Sports as the No. 694 player in the country, 12th-best all-purpose back and 91st-best prospect in Texas, the 6-foot, 180-pound Brown has been a major priority for Arizona on the offensive side of the ball for quite some time. When you looked at his production or flip on his highlights, you can see why.

Brown finished his senior season with 848 yards and 15 touchdowns on 62 carries this season. That is an eye-popping 13.7 yards per carry average. His production through the air is even more impressive. He caught 42 passes for 1,104 yards and another 15 scores.

Below are his senior highlights.

Brown joins three other recruits—cornerback Alphonse Oywak, linebacker Jabar Triplett and offensive lineman Cedric Melton—who are committed to Arizona but have yet to sign. The other three opted not to participate in the early signing period but are expected to sign with the Wildcats in February.

Arizona also signed wide receiver Brenden Schooler, a graduate transfer from Oregon (and older brother of UA linebacker Colin Schooler) as part of what is now a 17-member 2020 class.
