Arizona drops out of AP Top 25 after being swept in Oregon

No. 20 Colorado is coming to McKale on Saturday

The Arizona Wildcats were swept in Oregon for the first time since 2006, and now they are unranked for the first time this season.

Arizona (11-5, 1-2 Pac-12) was unsurprisingly dropped from 24th to the “others receiving votes” category in the latest AP poll that was released Monday. It’s Arizona’s first time being outside the Top 25 since the end of the 2018-19 season.

The Wildcats received 20 votes, making them the No. 33 team in the country. Arizona ranks considerably higher in other metrics. KenPom, which is all based on UA’s efficiency numbers and strength of schedule, pegs the Wildcats as the No. 18 team in the country, with the No. 13 offense and No. 44 defense.

Arizona is also ranked 18th in NET, the official NCAA metric that is determined by game results, strength of schedule, game location, scoring margin, net offensive and defensive efficiency, and the quality of wins and losses.

The Wildcats host Utah and Colorado on Thursday and Saturday, respectively. The Buffaloes check in at No. 20 in the country. Oregon jumped one spot to No. 8.

Stanford, Washington, USC and Oregon State are receiving votes.
