The Wildcats will be short-handed in the Wooden Legacy championship game

Arizona Wildcats forward Stone Gettings will miss the Wooden Legacy championship game vs. Wake Forest due to a concussion, the UA announced about 30 minutes before the 7 p.m. MST tip-off.

Gettings suffered the concussion Friday in the win over Penn when he was inadvertently struck in the face. He only played a season-low seven minutes that night. Gettings is going through concussion protocol and the school says there is no timetable for his return.

Typically that process can take up to a week, so his status will be worth monitoring as next Saturday’s game at Baylor draws near.

The Cornell transfer is averaging 5.4 points and 2.5 rebounds per game. Gettings is Arizona’s best frontcourt shooter, making 44 percent of his 3-point attempts (4 for 9).

With him not being available, it means Arizona’s frontcourt will consist of Chase Jeter, Zeke Nnaji, Ira Lee, and Christian Koloko vs. the Demon Deacons. Koloko has not played in the Wooden Legacy yet, but could see some action if there is fatigue or foul trouble.
