Transfer season has started
The Arizona Wildcats’ season is over, which means transfer season is only beginning.
Redshirt freshman linebacker Dayven “Day Day” Coleman announced Sunday that he is transferring from the UA and entering his name in transfer portal.
The 6-foot-2, 218-pound Coleman appeared in all 12 games as a reserve this season, tallying 10 tackles (0.5 for loss) and a pass breakup. As a true freshman in 2018, he logged 11 tackles (1.5 for loss) and made his first-ever start against Southern Utah.
Coleman was a consensus three-star recruit out of Mesquite High School in Dallas, Texas. He was recruited by Rich Rodriguez and thanked both him and Kevin Sumlin in his parting message.
“I will always be appreciative for this opportunity,” Coleman wrote.
As with every offseason, but maybe even more so because of all the coaching turnover, several players are expected to transfer from the UA before the start of next season.
