The tight end isn’t a big part of the Arizona Wildcats’ offense, but now the team has one fewer body at that position with redshirt freshman Jake Peters announcing his intention to transfer on Tuesday.

Peters appeared as a reserve in Arizona’s home opener against NAU but did not record any statistics, with the vast majority of tight end snaps this season going to junior Bryce Wolma. Redshirt freshman Zach Williams started one game when Wolma was injured, further indication the 6-foot-4, 235-pound Peters wasn’t part of this season’s offensive plans.
A former 3-star prospect from the 2018 recruiting class, Peters played in one game last season and had a catch that went for minus-1 yard.
