Vegas tabs Arizona as heavy home underdog vs. Washington

Sports betting, much like sports itself, is a results-based industry. At least most of the time.

Despite its 35-30 win at Colorado, and Washington’s 23-13 loss at Stanford, the Arizona Wildcats have been installed as 9.5-point underdogs for Saturday’s home game against the Huskies according to VegasInsider.com.

It will be the third time in four games that Arizona (4-1, 2-0 Pac-12) has been underdogs, closing as a 2-point dog at Colorado and a 1.5-point home dog against Texas Tech on Sept. 14. The Wildcats won both of those games as part of a three-game win streak.

Washington (4-2, 2-1) won 35-28 in overtime at Arizona in its last visit, in 2016, which is the Huskies’ only victory in the Grand Canyon State in their past 12 trips (including bowls) since 2007.

The 9.5-point spread would be the largest for Arizona as a home underdog since November 2016, when Colorado was a 17.5-point favorite ahead of a 49-24 win over the Wildcats.
