Arizona, Texas Tech, St. John’s and Cincinnati to headline 2020 Preseason NIT, per report

The Arizona Wildcats will head to Brooklyn during the 2020-21 season to play in the Preseason NIT in the Barclays Center, according to Jon Rothstein of CBS.

Joining them in the four-team event will reportedly be the Texas Tech Red Raiders, St. John’s Red Storm, and Cincinnati Bearcats.

Cincinnati is expected to be the fourth team in the 2020 Preseason NIT at Barclays Center, per multiple sources.

It will be Arizona’s first time playing in the Preseason WNIT since 2013 when the Wildcats beat Drexel and Duke, though those games were played in Madison Square Garden. The event usually takes place around Thanksgiving.

It is too early to know how formidable Arizona’s opponents will be, but the Red Raiders reached the national championship game this past season and are ranked 12th to begin the 2019-20 season.

Cincinnati and St. John’s are both breaking in new head coaches in 2019-20. The Wildcats face the Red Storm at the Chase Center in San Francisco this season.
