Nick Foles got paid in the offseason, which may end up being a good thing based on what happened in his first game with the Jacksonville Jaguars.

The former Arizona Wildcats standout had to leave Jacksonville’s game against the Kansas City Chiefs in the first quarter after being driven hard into the turf on his left shoulder.

The injury came on the tail end of a 35-yard touchdown pass to D.J. Chark. Foles had gone 5 of 8 for 75 yards before having to leave the game.

After the game, a 40-26 home loss to the Chiefs, it was announced Foles had suffered a broken left clavicle.

Foles signed a 4-year, $88 million contract with Jacksonville in March, with more than $45 million guaranteed. That came after he spent the previous two seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles, including the 2017 season when he took over the starting job for an injured Carson Wentz and led the Eagles to a Super Bowl title (earning him MVP honors for that game).

The career passing leader at Arizona, Foles played for the Wildcats from 2009-11.
