Arizona sets first-half scoring record against NAU

The Arizona Wildcats set a first-half scoring record against NAU on Saturday by dropping 51 points. The previous record was 49 points against Idaho in 2008.
Arizona, which held NAU to 13 points, totaled 517 yards in the first half, 257 on the ground.
Khalil Tate went 13 for 15 for 142 yards and three touchdowns (one rushing). True freshman Grant Gunnell entered in the second quarter and went 6 for 7 for 118 yards and two touchdowns, including a 75-yard bomb to Thomas Reid III.
J.J. Taylor had 10 carries for 102 yards and a touchdown. Gary Brightwell had four carries for 98 yards, including a 94-yard touchdown run, the second-longest in UA history.
Tayvian Cunningham hauled in a 47-yard TD pass from Tate on UA’s opening drive. He later caught an eight-yard TD pass from Tate to make it 35-7.
Drew Dixon caught his first career TD pass, a nine-yard feed from Gunnell.
