Arizona receives a vote in first AP Poll of 2019
Casey Sapio-USA TODAY Sports
The first AP Poll of the 2019 college football season was released Monday, and the Pac-12 landed five teams in the Top 25.
Oregon leads the way at No. 11, while Washington checks in at No. 13, Utah is No. 14, Washington State is No. 23 and Stanford is No. 25.
Three other Pac-12 schools received votes, including ASU (3), USC (1) and.... wait for it.... the Arizona Wildcats, who received one. That means Arizona is tied with USC as the No. 46 team in the country.
It’s not yet clear who voted for Arizona— it was not Daily Star beat writer Michael Lev—but someone out there thinks the Wildcats are pretty good...or that person is just trying to pander to the UA fan base...or he/she accidentally put the Wildcats on their ballot. Maybe both.
Anyway, here is the full AP Top 25:
1. Clemson
2. Alabama
3. Georgia
4. Oklahoma
5. Ohio State
6. LSU
7. Michigan
8. Florida
9. Notre Dame
10. Texas

13. Washington
14. Utah

18. Michigan State
19. Wisconsin
20. Iowa
21. Iowa State
22. Syracuse
23. Washington State
