Nevada transfer Jordan Brown commits to Arizona

Nevada transfer Jordan Brown has committed to Arizona Wildcats, he announced Friday on Twitter.

The sophomore will have to sit out a year before having three years of eligibility with the Wildcats, per NCAA transfer rules. The former McDonald’s All-American averaged 3.0 points and 2.1 rebounds in 10.1 minutes as a freshman, stuck behind a senior-laden frontline.

The 6-foot-11 forward chose the Wolf Pack over Arizona and Cal coming out of high school. As a transfer, he garnered interest from Kentucky, Arizona State, Saint Mary’s, Texas A&M and others.

“I want to begin by thanking the city of Reno for filling Lawlor every night and making it a great atmosphere for my first year of college,” he wrote. “The love and support you showed us was something I’ll never forget.”

The Wildcats now have 14 players under scholarship for 2019-20, one over the maximum.
