Arizona interested in South Dakota State transfer David Jenkins

If you’re a transfer and you’re pretty good at basketball, expect to get a call from the Arizona Wildcats.

The UA was linked to another transfer Wednesday, this time South Dakota State guard David Jenkins Jr., who is receiving interest from several major-conference programs, according to ESPN’s Jeff Borzello.

An All-Summit League First Team talent, Jenkins averaged 19.7 points per game this season, with a stellar shooting line of .458/.453/.793. The Tacoma, Washington native averaged 7.7 3-point attempts per game, swishing a school-record 112.

Jenkins announced his decision to explore a transfer after SDSU head coach TJ Otzelberger left for UNLV.

If Jenkins does leave SDSU, the 6-foot-2 guard will have to sit out the 2019-20 season before having two years of eligibility at his new school.

Hazzard update

UC Irvine guard Max Hazzard, the brother of former UA walk-on Jacob Hazzard, announced Tuesday that he is exploring becoming a graduate transfer.

Well, Ellie Lieberman of Mid-Major Madness is reporting that Hazzard, who averaged 12.5 points per game this season, has heard from Arizona.
