Channing Frye and Richard Jefferson roast LeBron James after passing Michael Jordan on all-time scoring list

LeBron James passed Michael Jordan for fourth place on the NBA’s all-time scoring list Wednesday, and a pair of former teammates celebrated by ribbing him.

“It’s a huge accomplishment for a guy like him who’s shown his consistency of ball-hogging,” said former Arizona Wildcat Channing Frye said.

“Never passed the ball,” added Richard Jefferson.

Here is the full roasting:

Frye: “I think it’s a huge accomplishment for a guy like him who’s shown his consistency, of ball-hogging. He’s a huge ball hog.”

Jefferson: “Never passed the ball.”

Frye: “Never. Passed. The. Ball.”

Jefferson: “Why don’t you try to pass the all-time assist leader? Why don’t you try and pass John Stockton, instead of trying to pass Kareem?”

Frye: “It took him long enough. What is this, 19 years?”

Jefferson: “Years.”

Frye: “It took him YEARS.”

Jefferson: “God, if I kept playing I would have passed people too.”

Frye: “Yeah, if I just shot 14-15 times a game. Anyway, congrats man — you suck.”

Jefferson: “Couldn’t have happened to a nicer guy.”

Frye: “You owe me a bottle of wine.”

Frye, still with the Cavaliers, was teammates with James for three seasons before James left for Los Angeles.

Jefferson, retired, was teammates with James in Cleveland in 2015-16 and 2016-17. That trio won a championship together in 2016, so this is clearly some good fun among former colleagues.

But there is some truth in jest, right?
