5-star guard MarJon Beauchamp interested in visiting Arizona, per report

With Arizona’s 2019 recruiting class in good shape, the coaching staff is allocating its time to 2020 prospects, including five star combo guard MarJon Beauchamp.

The 6-foot-6 prospect out of Rainier Beach (Seattle) is considering taking a visit to Arizona, according to Eric Bossi of Rivals.

Beauchamp is one of the top west coast prospects in the 2020 class. 247Sports ranks him No. 20 overall and fifth at the shooting guard position.

Washington is considered the favorite given the school’s proximity to where Beauchamp goes to high school, but a handful of Pac-12 programs could challenge the Huskies for his talents.

Beauchamp already took an official visit to UW this past fall, but has intentions to visit Arizona, UCLA, and Oregon State as well.

He told Bossi, “I have a good relationship with one of the assistants and of course coach Sean Miller. They are a west coast power and basically have been telling me that they want me to come in and do what I do.”

According to Bossi, Beauchamp has long mentioned UW and Arizona as programs he’s interested in.

Oregon State would be a bit of a shocker, but Beauchamp has a close relationship with assistant coach Stephen Thompson. UCLA’s chances of landing Beauchamp will ultimately depend on who the Bruins hire as their next coach.

According to Rivals, Beauchamp plans to use all his official visits before committing, so his decision won’t be coming anytime soon.

In the meantime, enjoy some of his junior year highlights:
