Jason Terry plans to retire unless Mavericks, Lakers or Warriors sign him

Jason Terry has played in his final NBA game, retiring from the league after 19 seasons and 1,410 games.

That is, unless the Los Angeles Lakers, Golden State Warriors or Dallas Mavericks give him a call.

The 41-year-old Terry spent the last two seasons with the Milwaukee Bucks where he averaged 3.8 points across 125 games.

While the Arizona product has always been a good shooter and would provide veteran leadership to any team he joins, it is hard to imagine any of his preferred teams signing him, seeing that roster spots are always at a premium.

But for Terry’s sake, those three destinations make sense.

Signing with the Mavericks would allow him to make one more run with the franchise he won a championship with, not to mention Dallas is in playoff contention. Meanwhile, the Lakers and Warriors would give him an opportunity to add a second NBA championship ring to his collection.

The Lakers are coached by fellow Wildcats Luke Walton and Miles Simon, so maybe they will give Terry another shot. If not, it was a heck of a career for the JET.
