J.J. Taylor tabbed as third team AP All-American
But not as a running back
While the Arizona Wildcats as a team did not have a particularly good 2018 season, several players did excel on an individual level.
That includes running back J.J. Taylor, who on Monday was named to the Associated Press All-America team. Taylor is listed as the third-team selection for all-purpose player rather than at running back.
Taylor finished second in the Pac-12 with 1,434 rushing yards, the most for an Arizona player since 2013, but was the conference leader in all-purpose yards at 2,107. The latter figure ranks second nationally behind Memphis’ Darrell Henderson (2,328).
A redshirt sophomore this season, Taylor heads into 2019 ranked eighth in school history with 2,540 rushing yards. He is 1,699 behind career leader Ka’Deem Carey.
