Arizona opens as small home underdog against USC
An early battle for first place in the Pac-12 South Division is on tap for Saturday night when the Arizona Wildcats host USC. And for the time being, the Wildcats will be entering that contest as a minor underdog.
Per VegasInsider, USC (2-2, 1-0) is a 3.5-point favorite for its 7:30 p.m. PT game at Arizona (2-2, 1-0). The line has been as high as plus-5.5 and as low as plus-2 since opening on Sunday afternoon.
Arizona, which has lost five consecutive games to the Trojans, hasn’t been favored in the series since 2014 when as a 1.5-point favorite it lost 28-26 at home (a week after upsetting Oregon and Marcus Mariota on the road).
The Wildcats are 2-2 against the spread this season, covering as favorites the last two weeks. They last won a game in which they were underdogs last October when they beat UCLA 47-30 at plus-3.
