Hi Corbett makes fan list of best places to watch college baseball

There’s no denying the Arizona Wildcats’ move from the on-campus Sancet Stadium to Hi Corbett Field in 2012 made for a major change in atmosphere in Wildcat baseball games.

The Twitterverse apparently agrees, as Hi Corbett was one of 13 college parks listed by NCAA.com as the best places to watch a game.

The list is comprised of stadiums most frequently mentioned by respondents to a tweet sent out last month. Hi Corbett is one of two Pac-12 fields to make the cut along with Phoenix Municipal Stadium, Arizona State’s home, while Washington’s Husky Ballpark was an honorable mention.

Hi Corbett is best known for having been the former home of first Tucson’s minor league baseball team, the Tucson Toros, and at different times was the Spring Training home of the Cleveland Indians and Colorado Rockies. The 1989 film “Major League” filmed scenes at Hi Corbett.

Arizona went 23-6 at Hi Corbett this past season, including 9-6 in Pac-12 play. The Wildcats are 167-72 there since 2012.
