4-star forward Christian Koloko trending to Arizona

Four-star forward Christian Koloko out of Van Nuys, Calif. may be the next high-profile big man to call the Arizona campus home.

Seven Crystal Ball predictions have been submitted for Koloko since Aug. 3 and all seven have him going to the Wildcats. The 7-foot, 195-pound center, rates as the No. 71 player overall, No. 13 center and No. 7 player in California by 247sports. He holds a litany of offers from mid-major and high major programs.

Other Pac-12 schools that have offered Koloko include Cal, Oregon, Stanford, UCLA and USC while programs such as Creighton, Harvard and Vanderbilt are also pursuing his services in the paint.

A native of Cameroon, Koloko currently plays at Birmingham High School, where he was teammates with incoming freshman shooting guard Devonaire Doutrive, a 4-star guard who was rated No. 66 in the nation by 247sports.

According to D1Circuit.com, Koloko averaged 6 points and 5.4 rebounds on the AAU circuit this summer with the Oakland Soldiers.

This summer marked the first full year Koloko has been stateside. Bruce Pascoe of the Arizona Daily Star reported back in July that Koloko struggled with the language barrier at first.

“My first week of classes was pretty hard because I wasn’t speaking English,” Koloko said. “Even the system is very difficult.”

Despite the obstacle, Koloko, according to Pascoe, maintained a 3.8 GPA.
