3-star CB Logan Wilson offered by Arizona, his ‘dream school’

The Dallas-based defensive back will visit Tucson in April

This 2019 class will be the very first for Kevin Sumlin and his new staff in Tucson, and it will be an important one.

The Arizona Wildcats’ staff has been pushing out offers and gauging the interest of prospects. One state the staff wants to focus on, and has made perfectly clear, is Texas.

Numerous offers have gone out to prospects around the state, mainly the Houston area. Though Dallas is another area the staff wants to focus on in the Lone Star State. It is the city that gave the ‘Cats Dayven Coleman.

There have been a couple of offers out to Dallas prospects, and one such player is Logan Wilson.

The 3-star cornerback from Bishop Dunne High School in Dallas received his offer from the UA in February and it was a big one for him. Arizona is the 5-foot-10, 162 pound prospect’s dream school.

“The program is really nice and I love the school,” Wilson said. “That was my dream school when I was growing up.”

All in all, Wilson’s recruitment is slowly but surely picking up. As of now he is sitting at six total offers with Iowa, UTSA, New Mexico, Jackson State, and Seton Hill joining Arizona on his list. Out of those schools Arizona is recruiting him the hardest.

New cornerbacks coach Demetrice Martin has been the ‘Cats’ lead recruiter for Wilson and likes what he sees from Wilson.

“He said that’s what they need, an elite corner like me,” Wilson said.

Wilson will be visiting the Wildcats in April and knows what he is looking for on the visit.

“I am looking if it feels like home to me and how the campus and people are,” he said.

But Arizona isn’t the only visit he has lined up. He also has visits to UTSA and Texas in his future. So far the only visit he has been on was to Illinois.

Overall, Wilson is a solid prospect with great upside. The biggest thing that sticks out to me is his ability to diagnose a play and respond. He has the vision to see how a play is progressing and responds quickly.

He plays physically, though does need to add weight to his frame. In fact, Wilson stated that gaining weight is one of the things he wants to improve on this offseason. He is currently 162 pounds and he wants to play at 172 for his senior season.

According to MaxPreps, Wilson finished his junior season with 24 tackles, 1.0 TFL, 2 INT, and 1 forced fumble.
