Sean Miller will not coach vs. Oregon, per reports

Is the Miller era over in Tucson?

Sean Miller has informed the Arizona Wildcats players that he will not coach Saturday when they take on the Oregon Ducks, according to Greg Hansen of the Arizona Daily Star.

ESPN’s Jeff Goodman, who is also well-connected to the Arizona program, is reporting the same.

This comes a day after ESPN reported FBI wiretaps have Miller discussing a $100,000 payment to secure the signing of star freshman Deandre Ayton.

It is unclear if Ayton will play, or who the interim head coach will be, though assistants Lorenzo Romar and Mark Phelps both have head coaching experience.

The University of Arizona has yet to release a statement about the ESPN report or Miller’s status, but NCAA president Mark Emmert said earlier Saturday that Miller’s availability would be determined by Arizona not the NCAA.

Tip-off in Eugene is set for 8:15 p.m. MST on ESPN.
