3-star JUCO OL Steven Bailey commits to Arizona

The ‘Cats add a much-needed offensive lineman

The Arizona Wildcats have multiple prospects on campus taking their official visits this weekend.

One of them must have liked what he’s seen.

Three-star offensive lineman Steven Bailey committed to Arizona on Saturday while visiting the school.

The 6-foot-3, 290 pound offensive guard from Glendale Community College played high school ball at Centennial High School in Peoria, Arizona.

Bailey had originally signed to play for Northern Arizona but was unable to make it into Flagstaff, thus leading him to Glendale CC.

Bailey will likely have three years to play two at Arizona. He also had offers from Air Force and NAU. Bailey is ranked as the No. 851 player in the 2018 class and the No. 39 guard.

Arizona had interest in Bailey when he was in high school, and UA o-line coach Jim Michalczik made his way to Glendale to check in on Bailey shortly after the Territorial Cup. UA offered him and set up an official visit. The rest is history.

Bailey has some flexibility to his game. He can play either center or guard and looks comfortable at both positions. He can come in and contribute right away, but that’ll depend on how easily he can transition to Pac-12 play.

Arizona is now up to 21 commits (at least one will grey shirt) in its 2018 class, with just a few spots remaining. Bailey is the third offensive lineman commit, joining Donovan Laie and David Watson.
