Arizona football recruiting SitRep: Wildcats offer several linemen during bye week

UA hit the trenches hard on the recruiting trail this week

This week was a busier week for the Arizona Wildcats on the recruiting side of things. With the bye week, the staff was able to head on the road to see more prospects, which meant more offers going out.

So let’s dive into it with this week’s SitRep.

How UA’s 2018 commits performed

David Watson, OT/DT

2017 Stats: 13 tackles, 3.0 TFL, 2.0 sacks, 1 forced fumble

Amphitheater High School: 0-6

Watson and his Amphi team suffered their sixth loss of the season to Sahuarita 15-8.

Armani Adams, S

2017 Stats: 28 tackles, 1.0 TFL, 1 PBU

Lakewood High School: 4-1

Lakewood absolutely crushed Dunedin 74-0 this past Thursday, moving Adams and his squad to 4-1 on the season. Of note, this week I was able to find highlights of Adams in action. I really like his physical style of play. He steps up in the box and is an effective run stopper. Overall he is a safety that likes to hit, and hit hard. Below are his highlights.

vs. Sunlake

vs. St. Petersburg

vs. Lehigh

Midseason Highlights

Jhevon Hill, DB

2017 Stats: 18 tackles, 2 INT, 3 PBU

Cajon High School: 4-1

The Cajon Cowboys stomped Miller High School 69-0 on Friday. I was unable to find any stats or clips of Hill during the contest.

Issaiah Johnson, LB

Los Alamitos High School: 2-3

Los Al is having a surprisingly down year to date. They lost their third game of the year to Tesoro, 48-44. I have yet to find any stats or clips of Johnson in action for his Griffin squad.

Jaiden Dockery, S

Lancaster High School: 2-3

Dockery and the Tigers lost to Mansfield Legacy 49-28 Friday night. I was unable to find any stats or clips for Dockery.

Mykee Irving, DT

2017 Stats: 7 tackles

Calabasas High School: 5-0

Irving and the Coyotes remained perfect this season after beating Valencia in a shootout 65-63. There are no stats for Irving’s effort, but there is a photo of him tackling Valencia’s quarterback.

Jamarye Joiner, QB

2017 Stats: 59-for-105, 917 yds, 13 TD, 3 INT; 56 car, 378 yds, 11 TD

Cienega High School: 6-0

Joiner had another not-so-eye-opening game statistically Thursday as the Bobcats took on the Lancers of Salpointe Catholic (the most anticipated high school game in Tucson this year).

However, that is okay. He once again did what he needed to and took what the stingy defense gave him. His highlights from the game are below, and while nothing really jumps out at you, it is clear that his fundamentals are there and are better than last year.

Darrius Smith, RB

Dawson High School: 2-1

Smith was not in action over the weekend as Dawson was on a bye.

Jake Peters, TE

2017 Stats: 4 rec, 41 yds, 0 TD

Santa Margarita Catholic High School: 4-1

Peters was another future Wildcat that had a bye this weekend.

McKenzie Barnes, CB

2017 Stats: 12 tackles, 12 PBU

Edison High School: 2-3

Barnes was not in action due to a bye week for his Edison Tigers.
