Arizona football injury report vs. Washington State

A lot of important names on it this week

The Arizona Wildcats suffered a myriad of injuries against the California Golden Bears, but Rich Rodriguez said he was “hopeful” that none were too severe and it appears they weren’t.

Dereck Boles, Tony Fields II, and Kylan Wilborn — all nicked up last weekend — are probable for Saturday’s game against the No. 15 Washington State Cougars.

Here is Arizona’s full injury report:

Probable: DL Dereck Boles (neck), LB Tony Fields II (concussion), DE/LB Kylan Wilborn (ankle)

Questionable: RB Nick Wilson (ankle)

Doubtful: None

Out: Trevor Wood (concussion), DB Scottie Young Jr. (knee)

Nick Wilson got banged up last week, too, and he may miss Saturday’s game, as he’s listed as questionable with an ankle injury.

If he’s unable to go, J.J. Taylor and Zach Green would take over at running back, with Branden Leon and Nathan Tilford (in that order) right behind them.

The Wildcats will be without Scottie Young Jr. for the second straight week, as the starting free safety deals with a knee injury.

Troy Young will likely start in his place once again (and hopefully won’t get ejected for targeting on Arizona’s second defensive possession of the game this time).

Other than that, Arizona’s defense is fairly healthy.

And having Boles, Fields, and Wilborn on the field is huge as the Wildcats are looking to slow down a Washington State offense that put up 69 points on them last season.

Wilborn leads Arizona in sacks (5) while Fields is second on the team in tackles (47) and sacks (3). Not bad for true freshmen.
