Houston vs. Arizona: Wildcats’ players of the game

We take a look at the Wildcats that stood out on Saturday night

It was a tough game Saturday night for the Arizona Wildcats, dropping a close contest to the Houston Cougars, 19-16.

But here are a few Wildcats who stood out:

Offense: J.J. Taylor, RB

Stats: 17 carries, 87 yards, 0 TD

Taylor may have not had over 100 yards rushing, but he still had a solid game. Taylor flashed some more of that game-changing talent that he has. He juked and spun his way to 87 yards and had some drive-saving runs as well.

Taylor is a special talent and should continue to have a great season.

Defense: Scottie Young Jr., S

Stats: 7 tackles, 1.0 tackle for loss

Young had himself quite a game. He didn’t finish with the most tackles but he was flying all over the field. He played with aggressiveness and pretty good awareness of what was going on around him.

The most memorable play by Young had to be when he smashed a blocking wide receiver into the ball carrier, then tackled both for a loss.

Special Teams: Josh Pollack, K

Stats: 3-for-4 w/ long of 45 yds (FG); 1-for-1 (PAT)

Pollack had himself a pretty solid game. He connected on three of his four field goal attempts, making kicks of 21, 42, and 45 yards. His lone miss was actually a block by Houston.

Pollack also knocked his only PAT attempt through the uprights.

Bryce Wolma, TE: 5 receptions, 38 yards, 0 TD

Tony Fields II, LB: 10 tackles

Dane Cruikshank, S: 6 tackles, 1 tackle for loss, and a forced fumble
