Arizona football recruiting SitRep: Wildcats 2018 commits in action
Taking a look at how Arizona’s commits fared in their high school games
The Arizona Wildcats had themselves quite a game against UTEP on Friday, winning 63-16. Besides a few offers that went out, it was a slow week for the Wildcats on the recruiting front. However, there were plenty of UA commits in action over the weekend.
Let’s get right to it in this week’s SitRep.
David Watson, OT
2017 Stats: 13 tackles, 3.0 TFL, 2.0 sacks, 1 forced fumble
Watson’s Amphitheater squad continues to struggle this season. They fell to Canyon del Oro 69-8.
Armani Adams, S
2017 Stats: 16 tackles; 2 rec, 13 yds, 0 TD
Adams and his Lakewood team have not played since September 1st due to Hurricane Irma. In that game though, Adams recorded 12 tackles.
Jhevon Hill, S
2017 Stats: 14 tackles, 2 INT, 2 PBU
Hill has shown incredible athleticism and coverage skills as a cornerback for his Cajon team. This past weekend, the Cowboys came away with a 48-21 victory over Paso Robles. I couldn’t find any highlights for the game but Hill did come away with a deflected pass.
Issaiah Johnson, LB
For the third week I have been unable to find anything on Johnson’s game on Friday. His Los Al team did defeat Banning, 51-6.
Jaiden Dockery, S
Dockery and his Lancaster team won their match against Corsicana 41-23. I haven’t been able to find anything on Dockery’s performance.
Mykee Irving, DT
2017 Stats: 7 tackles
Irving had a strong outing on Friday against Pacifica. He racked up three tackles and had some really good blocks on the offensive side. Calabasas ended up winning 48-29. Below is a clip of a block he had.
Love this play. Watch @Jaden5kc (hit at release), big @IrvingMykee get out to block, and @HunterNichols21 makes the catch and run. http://pic.twitter.com/01gptWJspf

Jamarye Joiner, QB
2017 Stats: 44-for-68, 712 yds, 11 TD, 1 INT; 32 car, 289 yds, 8 TD
Joiner had another solid game for Cienega against Flowing Wells. He finished 8-for-12 for 128 yards and three touchdowns through the air. He also had 11 yards on four carries and a score on the ground.
Below is a clip of a screen pass that Joiner completed.
Darrius Smith, RB
Smith and his Dawson team lost their contest to Summer Creek, 33-14. Even though they lost, Smith had some nice plays. He scored one of Dawson’s touchdowns on a run he bounced to the outside. He also made a nice catch downfield after a play action by the quarterback. Below are his highlights from the Summer Creek game.
Jake Peters, TE
2017 Stats: 3 rec, 34 yds, 0 TD; 13 tackles
Peters gained 13 yards on a catch and recorded a tackle in Santa Margarita Catholic’s 49-3 victory over Mayfair.
McKenzie Barnes, CB
2017 Stats: 10 tackles, 8 PBU
Barnes is continuing to have a strong showing on the field. He showed more solid instincts and made some impressive open field tackles. Below are his highlights from Edison’s 20-0 victory over Clovis North.
