Arizona football: Trey Griffey signs with Miami Dolphins
Another Wildcat getting an NFL contract
Another Arizona Wildcat has signed an NFL contract this summer, as Trey Griffey has reached a deal with the Miami Dolphins, reports ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
Griffey is set to make a base salary of $465,000 in 2017 should he make the final roster.
The 6-foot-3, 209 pound receiver will help boost the Dolphins receiving corps, which is currently missing five injured wide receivers
After going undrafted, Griffey signed a three-year, $1.66 million contract with the Indianapolis Colts. He suffered an injury in camp, and was waived on injury designation. He reached an injury settlement, and was officially cut by the club in July.
Griffey cleared the waivers, and recently had a workout with the Cincinnati Bengals.
In four years at Arizona, Griffey hauled in 79 passed for 1,241 yards and six touchdowns. He had 23 catches for 382 yards and two touchdowns in his senior campaign.
The Dolphins’ next preseason game is Thursday, Aug. 17 against the Baltimore Ravens at 4 p.m. PT.
