Arizona basketball: Kaleb Tarczewski listed on New Orleans Pelicans’ Las Vegas Summer League roster

Tarczewski will head to Vegas when Utah Summer League comes to a close

When Kaleb Tarczewski’s stint with the Philadelphia 76ers in Utah Summer League ends on July 6, he will immediately head to Las Vegas to play for the New Orleans Pelicans’ Summer League squad.

The former Wildcat is listed on New Orleans’ Summer League roster, which was released earlier this week.

It is not uncommon for players to participate in multiple Summer League circuits, but those that do are at a disadvantage in their second go-round.

Tarczewski will not be able to practice with the Pelicans before their first game on July 7, and therefore probably will not much — if at all — if their first game or two.

The 7-footer’s chances of making an NBA roster are slim, but Summer League is an opportunity for him to showcase his talent to international teams, too, and getting two chances in Summer League is certainly beneficial.

Tarczewski will be joined by several other former Arizona Wildcats in Vegas.

Gabe York will be with the Los Angeles Lakers once Orlando Summer League ends, Grant Jerrett will play for the Cleveland Cavaliers, Kobi Simmons will play for the Memphis Grizzlies, Nick Johnson will suit up for the Portland Trail Blazers, and Rondae Hollis-Jefferson will play for the Brooklyn Nets.

Chance Comanche is not listed on any Las Vegas Summer League rosters as of now, but there are a handful of teams that have not officially released their roster yet, so maybe he will be on one come July 7.
