Arizona basketball recruiting: 2018 point guard Devon Dotson lists Wildcats in top 8

Dotson is the No. 8 point guard in the 2018 class

Four-star point guard Devon Dotson listed his top eight schools Wednesday and the Arizona Wildcats made the cut, along with the Kansas Jayhawks, USC Trojans, Florida Gators, Maryland Terrapins, Wake Forest Demon Deacons, Ohio State Buckeyes, and Miami Hurricanes.

The 6-foot-2 guard from Charlotte, North Carolina, is the No. 33 prospect in the 2018 class, according to 247Sports, as well as the No. 8 point guard.

Arizona already has a point guard commit in its 2018 class in Brandon Williams, who is the No. 6 point guard, though evidently that has not deterred Dotson from considering heading west to Tucson.

Arizona offered Dotson on May 1, but he has not visited yet.

The Crystal Ball suggests Kansas is the favorite to land Dotson, though only seven predictions have been made, five of which were made in 2016, so his recruitment seems to be wide open at this point.

This spring, Dotson averaged 18.1 points, 3.4 assists and 3.2 steals per game for Team Charlotte.

Here are some of his highlights:

The Wildcats’ 2018 class currently consists of Williams and five-star forward Shareef O’Neal, placing it second in the country.
