Pitt grad transfer Cameron Johnson cuts list to six; Arizona Wildcats make it

On Friday morning, Pittsburgh Panthers grad transfer Cameron Johnson cut his list of potential landing spots to six, and the Arizona Wildcats are one of them.

Per ESPN’s Jeff Borzello, Johnson’s final six schools are: Arizona, Kentucky, Ohio State, Oregon, UCLA, and TCU.

Not only will Johnson bring a lot of talent to wherever he lands (11.9 points, 4.5 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game + 41.5% three-point shooting), he’s also a rare type of grad transfer that will be eligible immediately and have two years of eligibility remaining.

Johnson is a 6-foot-8 redshirt sophomore that can shoot the three, which would give Arizona another perimeter threat next year. As our Ryan Kelapire wrote when Johnson’s potential interest in Arizona became apparent, “Johnson seems to be a type of player Arizona has not had in recent seasons, which is a 6-foot-8 forward that can defend multiple positions and shoot the 3 ball with prolific efficiency.”

A Sea of Blue breaks down the situations at each school Johnson is still considering, and thinks that this one will come down to UK or one of the Pac-12 schools. The final decision is not expected to be made until sometime in May after Johnson graduates from Pitt.
