Sonoran Hot Reads: Arizona offers 2019 Salpointe wing Majok Deng

The Wildcats offer the Tucson prospect

Back in September, Salpointe Catholic’s Majok Deng told Josh Gershon of Scout “Arizona is my dream school and hopefully they will come by. I talked to one of their coaches last week. I know it’s still early and I would love to stay home but at this point I want to go out there and explore. Best case I want to stay home but if it’s not the best fit for me then I’ll leave. Arizona is home. I know Sean Miller is a great coach. If I go there, God willing, I’ll be home.”

Well, on Monday, Deng received his Arizona offer. According to Verbal Commits, Deng already has offers to ASU, Utah, GCU, and New Mexico among other places. He’s not ranked, but you can bet this will turn some heads in the recruiting service world. Deng recently had a big showing at the Visit Mesa Basketball Challenge, making the all-tournament team

- Alabama got rid of Lane Kiffin before the National Championship Game, which means Steve Sarkisian will be the Tide’s offensive coordinator against Clemson. Last time we saw Sark, he was picking his nose and eating the boogers

- UCLA hired Jedd Fisch away from Michigan to become their new offensive coordinator. Our supervisor Luke thinks that’s a really bad idea
