Arizona football: Paul Magloire and Trey Griffey boost NFL draft stock in East-West Shrine Game

The two Arizona products made the most of their opportunity

The West came out on top with a 10-3 win over the East in the 2017 East-West Shrine Game, largely due to some strong performances by the two Arizona Wildcats who took part, Trey Griffey and Paul Magloire Jr.

Throughout the week at practice, the two caught the attention of scouts from all across the league. Griffey was impressing scouts with his size and body control, Magloire with his attacking nature and versatility.

Starting with Griffey, he led all receivers in targets (7), and the West in receptions (3), finishing with 34 yards, including two first downs.

Magloire finished the game with four tackles and a touchdown-saving pass deflection. He was thrown at three times, only allowing one completion for six yards. He tells me that he has met with well over a dozen NFL teams already.

Pro Football Focus graded Magloire as the top linebacker at the Shrine Game with a grade of 80.4, and National Mock Drafts named him as the best linebacker. For Bleacher Report’s Matt Miller, he had Magloire at No. 296 on his big board, but pushed him up to No. 163 after his performance this weekend.
