Gabe York drains 10 3-pointers in NBA D-League game, breaks Erie BayHawks’ franchise record

The former Wildcat had 38 points in 39 minutes in an NBA D-League game

Gabe York hit nine 3-pointers in his final game in McKale Center — a career-high — but it didn’t take him long to surpass that total as a professional player.

York, now in the NBA D-League, drained a franchise-record ten 3-pointers in the Erie BayHawks’ 118-99 win over the Los Angeles D-Fenders on Thursday night in Pennsylvania.

The former Arizona Wildcat finished with 38 points in 39 minutes, shooting 12 of 19 from the field and 10 of 13 from behind the arc.

Here are highlights of the madness:

York was previously playing professionally in Italy, but was acquired by the BayHawks in late November, and has been there ever since.

The 23-year-old has played in eight games with Erie, where he is averaging 14.4 points per game, while shooting 44.9 percent from the field and 39.4 percent from behind the arc.

It is nice to see York have success as a pro. Sean Miller continually used York as an example of a four-year player that earned his way to extended playing time at Arizona.

Kaleb Tarczewski, York’s former teammate, is with the NBA D-League’s Oklahoma City Blue. The big man is averaging 9.4 points and 7.7 rebounds in 14 games.
