College basketball rankings: Arizona 18th in AP, Coaches polls

The Wildcats climbed one more spot

After another unscathed week, the Arizona Wildcats moved up one more spot in both the AP and Coaches polls this week.

The Wildcats are now 18th, leapfrogging South Carolina. The Gamecocks dropped a close contest to Seton Hall in Madison Square Garden this week.

Here’s a look at the full AP Poll:

The top six of the AP Poll has remained the exact same for three weeks now. The UCLA Bruins remain at No. 2 behind defending National Champs Villanova. As far as the rest of the Pac-12, the Oregon Ducks and USC Trojans are both ranked as well. USC and UCLA are two of the six remaining undefeated teams left in the country.

Another one of those undefeated teams is past Arizona opponent Gonzaga, who improved to 11-0 this year and moved up to 7th in the rankings. The Wildcats’ other loss, Butler, moved up five spots in the polls after beating Indiana in Indianapolis.

Cal and Colorado are not receiving votes in the AP Poll, but are 35th and T-38th respectively in the Coaches Poll.

Arizona returns to the floor on Tuesday night when they host the New Mexico Lobos. That game is scheduled to tip-off at 7 PM MT and will be broadcast on Pac-12 Networks.
