Arizona Wildcats in the NFL: Earl Mitchell continues strong outings after stint on IR

Earl Mitchell is a force on the Miami defensive front

Week 11 was a quiet one for former Arizona Wildcats. Three (Will Parks, Nick Folk, Brooks Reed) were on bye weeks.

One former ‘Cat, however, continues to have a major impact after he came off of IR.

Earl Mitchell, DT (#90), Miami Dolphins

2016 Stats: 7 tackles and 3 TFL

Mitchell has been a force since his return from the IR. Statistically he didn’t have a standout game, recording two tackles and a TFL in Miami’s 14-10 win over the Los Angeles Rams. However, his impact goes deeper then stats. He is extremely disruptive along the line of scrimmage, using his power and motor to disrupt plays.

Marquis Flowers, LB (#53), Cincinnati Bengals

2016 Stats: 6 tackles

Flowers did see time on the field in Cincy’s 16-12 loss to the Buffalo Bills. He recorded only one tackle.

Trevin Wade, DB (#31), New York Giants

2016 Stats: 16 tackles and 2 PBU

Statistically, Wade has had a pretty quiet season overall. He has made some pretty good plays though and continues to see consistent time on the field for the Giants. He finished Sunday’s 22-16 victory over the Chicago Bears with one tackle.

Robert Golden, S (#21), Pittsburgh Steelers

2016 Stats: 32 tackles, 1 TFL, 1 PBU

Golden has been pretty quiet the past four games with Sunday being no exception. He only recorded one tackle in a 24-9 win against the flailing Cleveland Browns.

Ka’Deem Carey, RB (#25), Chicago Bears

2016 Stats: 27 car, 109 yds, 0 TD; 4 rec, 43 yds, 0 TD

Carey did not record any stats in Sunday’s 22-16 loss to the New York Giants. He awaits his next opportunity behind Jeremy Langford and rookie Jordan Howard.

Nick Foles, QB (#4), Kansas City Chiefs

2016 Stats: 36-for-55, 410 yds, 3 TD, 0 INT

Foles continues to sit on the sideline ever since Alex Smith came back from a concussion.

Rob Gronkowski, TE (#87), New England Patriots

2016 Stats: 25 rec, 540 yds, 3 TD

Gronk did not play in New England’s 30-17 beating of the San Francisco 49ers. He suffered a chest injury from a monster hit by Seattle Seahawks safety Earl Thomas last week. The Pats have said they are not going to rush him back.
