Sonoran Hot Reads: Utah has a new aggressive style of play
Will Saturday be a battle of gutsy playcalling?
The Utah Utes lost a game this weekend that had a similar theme to the Arizona Wildcats’ loss two weeks ago...fourth down calls that were questioned later. If Arizona had kicked a field goal on its second possession of the game against UW instead of going for it on fourth down, maybe they win that game. And if Utah had kicked a field goal in a similar situation, they only need another field goal rather than trying to punch it in to the endzone at the end of the Cal game. But Kyle Whittingham was definitely not second guessing himself after the game:
"No regrets whatsoever," Whittingham said. "We wouldn't be in the position we were in in the game had we not gone for it on numerous fourth downs. And so the one we didn't get at the end, you know, you gotta be aggressive."
Aggressive is better in my opinion, and I hope there are no punts on Saturday
