Sonoran Hot Reads: Rob Gronkowski out vs. Arizona

A big blow for Patriot and Wildcat fans

The biggest football game in the state of Arizona this weekend is in Glendale (again) as the New England Patriots take on the Arizona Cardinals. However, some Wildcat fans that will be at the game will probably be disappointed, as Rob Gronkowski did not make the trip and is out for Sunday’s game. I’m guessing there’s a good number of people that bought tickets to that game just to see Gronk, and now they will not get that chance

- Get caught up on all of our Grambling week coverage

- In a couple of weeks, Darnay Holmes will be on campus

- We’ll probably see Ole Miss transfer QB Devante Kincade on Saturday. We got to know Kincade a little better from our Rebels friends over at Red Cup Rebellion

- Louisville put up record numbers against Dino Babers’ Syracuse defense

Basketball

- The Nets don’t exactly have any starpower on their team, so they should start treating Rondae Hollis-Jefferson as a star

- What if college basketball had free agency? According to Sean Miller: "If kids are allowed to transfer without sitting out, college basketball will never be the same. Whatever the number is of kids transferring this year, 700 or so, I think you can double that."

Baseball

- Cody Ramer was on base four times as Orem won its playoff game

Other sports

- Volleyball split their two matches on Friday

- Two Arizona swimmers were named to the USA Junior National Team

- Soccer won 2-0

Tucson news

- The Ajo ramps off I-19 South are closed all weekend

- There will be more improvements coming to I-10 between Tucson and Phoenix
