Sonoran Hot Reads: Arizona to recognize Pearl Harbor, USS Arizona during Hawai’i game

There’s gonna be a few really cool things going on at Arizona Stadium on Saturday night

With the Hawai’i Rainbow Warriors coming to Tucson this weekend, the Arizona Wildcats have many tributes planned to honor the 75th anniversary of Pearl Harbor and the sinking of the USS Arizona. Among the various things include: special game program, the national anthem featuring an Arizona survivor plus a skydiver, the team taking a 48-star flag out of the tunnel, special coin toss, halftime ceremony with several WWII vets and a special presentation by the Pride of Arizona, and lastly, special uniforms worn by the team. There are going to be several cool moments in Arizona Stadium for the second-straight week

- Drake graded each position group from Saturday’s game. He was very nice to the defense

- Next week’s game against Washington is going to be another late one

- The Pac-12 actually approached Arizona about playing Colorado in Australia sometime in the near future

- It was a weird day for Elijah Watson, but as of right now, he says he’s still committed to Arizona after reports earlier in the day had him reopening his recruitment

- Women’s golf got their fall schedule underway with a tournament in Albuquerque. They are in 8th place after play was suspended

Tucson news

- An arrest warrant has been placed for the suspect in the Chariot Pizza stabbing

- Monday had surprise, severe storms, causing a tree to fall on a mobile home near Flowing Wells and Wetmore
