Sonoran Hot Reads: Bobby Dalbec signs with Boston Red Sox

The former Arizona player gets an above-slot signing bonus

The deadline for draft picks to sign with their MLB team is on Friday, and the Boston Red Sox went down to the wire with a couple of their high-profile guys. Minutes after inking their first round pick Jason Groome and their fifth round pick Mike Shawaryn, the club agreed with former Arizona player Bobby Dalbec, fourth round pick, to a slightly above slot deal. Dalbec gets a $650K bonus, when his slot value was $501,300. This deal also takes money away from their possible pool to sign 11th round pick Nick Quintana, an Arizona signee.
