Sonoran Hot Reads: Andre Iguodala has a recruiting pitch for Arizona

Come to Arizona, do well in the NBA

In the aftermath of a Game One win over the Cavaliers in the NBA Finals, Andre Iguodala dropped a serious recruiting pitch for the Arizona Wildcats when talking about defensive rotations. This is what he said to John Schuhmann of NBA.com:

If you can't read the image: "It's just defensive principles and, depending on what college you went to, you learn them early. Arizona had that shell drill and very few schools had that as well. In the NBA, there's not as much teaching or emphasis on how to teach that. It's kind of like you got to figure it out on the fly. Being that our coaching staff is from Arizona, we can include the shell drill in our daily routine. And if you want to become a great defender, Arizona would be a great school to attend to get your overall game better and prepare you for the NBA."

- Given that the Finals have Lute Olson products all over the place, the former coach of all these guys says he's not rooting for a team in this year's Finals

Baseball

- Arizona opened postseason play with a 7-3 win over Sam Houston State

- The West did pretty good against non-West teams on day one. We'll see if that keeps up or not

- Baseball America has Bobby Dalbec as their 118th-best MLB Draft prospect. Kevin Ginkel is 451st. There are also a couple of Arizona signees: Nick Quintana (114th), JoJo Romero (158th), and Cameron Cannon (480th).
