Arizona basketball: Wildcats to face Gonzaga on December 9 in STAPLES Center as part of Hoophall LA

Will the Wildcats beat Gonzaga four years in a row?

The Arizona Wildcats will be squaring off against the Gonzaga Bulldogs in STAPLES Center on Dec. 3 as part of the first-ever Hoophall LA in Los Angeles, CA.

"We are very excited to be part of this year’s Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame event," Arizona head coach Sean Miller said in a statement. "It’s an honor for our program to be involved with such a prestigious organization and to have the chance to play an excellent opponent in Gonzaga. To be able to continue our history with such a tremendous program in a marquee Southern California setting will be a great experience for our program, fans and alumni."

Hoophall LA is a one-day doubleheader and Arizona-Gonzaga is the first of two games, with the other being between the USC Trojans and BYU Cougars.

"We are excited to play in this event and continue our series against a great program like Arizona," Gonzaga head coach Mark Few said. "It's a tremendous opportunity for our team, and we are looking forward to playing in STAPLES Center."

Arizona and Gonzaga have played each other in each of the past three seasons, with the Wildcats winning all three games. Two of the games were part of a home-and-home series, while the other was in the Round of 32 in the 2014 NCAA Tournament. But, with the Wildcats set to lose three starters, and the Bulldogs losing four starters, including Kyle Wiltjer and Domantas Sabonis, this game will feature plenty of new faces on both sides.

Tickets for the event can be purchased by general public starting on May 4 at 10 a.m. PT via AXS.com, by phone at 888-929-7849, and the STAPLES Center box office.

Tipoff times and television information have yet to be announced.
