Sonoran Hot Reads: 2017 five-star center Brandon McCoy blown away by Arizona fans

That Red-Blue Game certainly catches a lot of people off guard

The Arizona Wildcats typically bring a lot of recruits in for the Red-Blue Game every year, and this year, one of those guys was 2017 five-star center Brandon McCoy. Scout's Evan Daniels recently caught up with the talented big man, and McCoy said this about his visit for the Red-Blue Game: "It was fun. The fans are crazy. It was only a Red-Blue scrimmage and it was a packed house then, so I can only imagine what it's like when they're playing rivals. I love playing in front of those type of people and I love playing in front of a lot of people."

The guy clearly has a lot of confidence, and earlier in the interview he says he's only working on his offensive game because his defensive game is already there. Guessing Sean Miller can probably find things for him to work on on the defensive end

- Ryan Anderson brought in a lot of praise for his performance this weekend. He was named Pac-12 Player of the Week, Dickie V named him his National Player of the Week, Myron Medcalf has him as a potential March difference maker, and Jeff Goodman has him among the Five Up players for this week

- Anderson also helped Arizona move up a bit in the latest Bracketology predictions

Football

- Arizona is probably set at running back, but has some work to do at middle linebacker in 2016

- There were plenty of top targets that didn't sign with Arizona this year, and Gabe figured out where those guys landed

Josh Allen will make his way to Tucson on June 5th

- AZ Central put out a first round NFL mock draft, and Scooby Wright is nowhere to be found. They have Jared Goff going second to the Browns though

Other sports

- Here are some of the best images from the last week at Arizona

- Softball season starts Thursday night at Hillenbrand. The Wildcats will start the year shorthanded, and Mike Candrea is annoyed by the fact that players seem to get hurt more often now than they had before

Tucson news

- A Davis-Monthan training exercise went wrong and caused a fire

- Tucson is the 56th-best city for Valentine's Day apparently. Since there's a basketball game on it this year, does that number go up or down? Scottsdale is No. 2 on the list, trailing only San Francisco, and yep, I would agree Scottsdale is a good V-Day city
