WSU vs. Arizona final score: Wildcats complete weekend sweep with 90-66 victory

Pretty good Saturday

The Arizona Wildcats started Saturday evening off with a huge commitment in the form of Kobi Simmons, and ended it with an equally huge win against the Washington State Cougars, running away from Wazzu and completing the weekend sweep by a score of 90-66.

The Wildcats have now won 49 straight at home, and 23 of those are conference wins. It's also nine straight against Washington State.

Arizona started to pull away in the last part of the second half, taking a 46-31 lead to the locker room. Mark Tollefsen led all scorers with ten at that point, and all five UA starters had at least six points at the halfway mark. The Wildcats would have six different players finish in double-figures.

The highlight of the first half was easily this Parker Jackson-Cartwright lob pass to Tollefsen.

It only got crazier from there, as Gabe York joined the dunk parade.

A home weekend with a couple of blowouts and improved hope for the future is just what the doctor ordered after Allonzo Trier's injury. Arizona hits the road again next weekend, visiting the Bay Area schools.

Tolly at the Three: Sean Miller has talked about it before, but Mark Tollefsen's struggles early in the year could be attributed to him bouncing back and forth between positions. With Trier out, Tollefsen will be exclusively at the three, and that seems to be benefiting him in an enormous way. Tolly finished the night with 11 points on a perfect 5-of-5 shooting

Dusan from Tucson: Dusan Ristic hit a three in the first half, remaining perfect from beyond the arc in his career in Pac-12 games. Then he was the subject of "Know Your Wildcats" at halftime, and we found out that his desired superpower is, and I quote, "Never sleep but always be fresh". Dusan is the best.

Home is where the heart is: Can you envision a Pac-12 team coming into McKale and beating Arizona this year? I can not. It's amazing to see the difference in play between this team on the road and this team at home.
