Sonoran Hot Reads: Former Wildcat Patrick Onwuasor thrives at Portland State
Would have been nice to have this guy in 2015
One glaring issue for the Arizona Wildcats in 2015 was the lack of depth, especially on the defensive side of the ball. One guy that used to be in Tucson, Patrick Onwuasor, transferred to FCS Portland State, and he has turned into one of the best safeties in the country. Onwuasor was named a first-team FCS All-American on Thursday, thanks in large part to nine interceptions on the season (Arizona had eight as a team this year). He's still in the running for FCS Defensive Player of the Year as well. You may remember Portland State as the team that won at Washington State this year. The Vikings ended up finishing 9-3 this year, after going 3-9 last year. Good for Onwuasor for being part of a huge turnaround
- Football continues to hang out in Albuquerque. Here's video from their last practice of the year, and then they went and played some Family Feud game against UNM. The Lobos won
- We'll have our predictions for the game later on Friday. Mark Schlabach picks Arizona 37-28. Five of seven USA Today writers have Arizona winning as well
