Arizona football injury report: Wildcats without Bruno, Tagaloa, Wilson in New Mexico Bowl

Arizona football injuries never stop

On a new twist to the Arizona Wildcats motto of "60 Minutes of Arizona football", we have gotten the "13 Weeks of Arizona Football Injuries" treatment this year.

Even though it's been a month since the Wildcats last played a game, they will be without a couple of very important pieces when they take on the New Mexico Lobos on Saturday.

Here's a look:

Probable, Questionable and Doubtful: None

Out: Luca Bruno (foot), Freddie Tagaloa (knee), Derrick Turituri (hip), Nick Wilson (knee)

This is the first week that Scooby Wright III hasn't been on the injury report since the opener, so that's the positive side.

We already knew that Wilson was going to be out after Rich Rodriguez alluded to it at practice earlier in the week. This means that Jared Baker will likely start at running back. It could also mean more Orlando Bradford, or possibly some other looks with Tyrell Johnson or Jonathan Haden in the backfield.

Tagaloa being out again means the left side of the offensive line will probably look shaky, just as it has down the stretch of the regular season. Gerhard de Beer had been filling in at left guard for Tagaloa, but with a month of practice, it will be interesting to see if someone else stepped up and earned the starting role.

Bruno suffered his injury towards the end of the ASU game, and was in a great deal of pain as he was being helped back to the locker room when the game ended. Bruno has been a nice surprise on the defensive line this year, turning into one of the most consistent players along the defensive front. Jeff Worthy has come on strong this year though, and will need to do so again when faced with this New Mexico triple-option attack.

It's likely that Turituri will be granted a medical redshirt for this year. He has not been able to return to the field after playing through the injury in the first couple of games, albeit an extremely limited amount of playing. Outside of Wright and Wilson, this has arguably been the most impactful injury this year for Arizona.
