Sonoran Hot Reads: Arizona commit JJ Taylor named LA Times' back of the year
A major award for a guy making his way to Tucson
If you follow Arizona recruiting somewhat closely, you're probably aware that running back commit JJ Taylor has put up some ridiculous numbers in his senior year of high school. Well, that translated into a major honor for the Corona Centennial back, as the L.A. Times named him their high school back of the year. According to the Times, Taylor finished the year with 2,149 yards and 41 touchdowns, despite sitting out most fourth quarters. This is what his coach had to say:
"He's an amazing athlete," Coach Matt Logan said. "He probably should have 4,000 yards rushing if it was a normal season. He's an incredible player. He has it all. He runs hard, has balance, speed, he's tough, he can catch the ball."
Congrats to JJ, and looking forward to seeing him in an Arizona uniform in 2016
