Missouri vs. Arizona final score: Wildcats hit cruise control in 88-52 win over Tigers

A strong all-around performance from Sean Miller's squad

The Arizona Wildcats improved to 9-1 on the season after throttling the Missouri Tigers by a final score of 88-52 on Sunday night. Mizzou isn't very good, now dropping to 5-4 on the season, but this was possibly Arizona's best performance all-around. This was Arizona basketball.

Despite suffering a pretty scary ankle injury vs. Fresno State, Kadeem Allen was inserted back into the starting lineup, and he looked good, playing without any limitations. However, this is the second straight game without Elliott Pitts, as he was once again sidelined in street clothes for "personal reasons".

Arizona dominated this game from the beginning, overwhelming the Tigers at every position. Arizona had beautiful ball movement inside and out, making Missouri respect every scoring option.

Allonzo Trier, Ryan Anderson, and Gabe York led the way through the first half, which gave Arizona a 42-23 lead at the end of the first half.

We saw Justin Simon and Chance Comanche get some action throughout, and both made the most of their minutes. The 6-5 combo guard, Justin Simon, impressed with great defense and a whole lot of hustle in transition. He had four fouls in the game, but finished with 10 points and four hard-fought rebounds. Chance was big on the glass, grabbing nine rebounds and finishing with two points.

Mizzou started running a 2-3 zone, and not even that was able to slow down Arizona this time. Parker Jackson-Cartwright served as a true distribution man, and made all the right reads and movements to find the open man. Things definitely started getting out of hand when Gabe York did this.

Arizona was on cruise control in the second half, doubling up Missouri on the scoreboard throughout the remainder of the game. Dusan Ristic came alive in the second half, getting some good looks while cutting to the rim, contributing 12 points and six rebounds.

There were six Wildcats finishing in double-digit scoring figures, Mark Tollefsen led the way with 17, York with 16, and Trier with 15, to highlight the top three scorers. Ryan Anderson fell one rebound short of a double-double, with 14 points on the night.

Again, Missouri is not a great team, and they'll likely miss out on the NIT and CBI, but this was a great game for Arizona all-around. It allowed guys like Trier, Ristic, Simon and Comanche to get some more confidence, with Anderson and York continuing to show their leadership.
