Arizona football: Nick Wilson unlikely to play in New Mexico Bowl
The Wildcats' star running back hasn't been practicing heading into the bowl game
Heading into the 2015 Arizona Wildcats season, there were questions surrounding the durability of Nick Wilson. As we head into the final game of 2015, those concerns have been realized, and continue to plague the talented sophomore running back.
"He's done a lot with the trainers, he hasn't done anything with football," Rich Rodriguez said of Wilson on Tuesday. "But that's just something that's gonna take time to heal so it's not looking very good for him Saturday."
Arizona's running game has struggled without a healthy Wilson in the backfield. Jared Baker has the speed to make big plays, but hasn't shown the physicality and ability to break tackles necessary when running behind the porous 2015 Arizona offensive line. I also wonder if the New Mexico Bowl is a chance to get Orlando Bradford significant snaps.
As for other notable injured players, Anu Solomon and Scooby Wright III are on track to play, but a guy like Freddie Tagaloa remains questionable. There are a ton of guys not practicing this week though, sporting the yellow jerseys designating they're out with injury. The training room after practice looks more like a crowded dance club with all the guys in there.
Arizona will release its official injury report on Thursday.
