Sonoran Hot Reads: Arizona hosted two high-profile recruits this weekend
Good time for a big win
Every home game is important in the recruiting game, since teams always have prospects on campus, but Arizona had high-profile targets from both football and basketball in town. 4-star WR N'Keal Harry was in town on the football side, and local basketball product 3-star PF Mitch Lightfoot was down from Chandler. Lightfoot told Scout that the visit was "eye opening", and that he will decide on his school within the next two weeks.
- One recruit who was in town for the UCLA game was Lamar Jackson, and he took in another College GameDay experience when he went to Utah this week
Football
- We've covered all things from the Arizona perspective of this weekend, so here's how Oregon State viewed that game
- The big news of the day on Sunday was USC putting Steve Sarkisian on indefinite leave. There's a bigger problem there, and the solution is to get rid of Pat Haden
- USC also lost center Max Tuerk for the season, and 5-star commit Daelin Hayes decommitted
- The Pac-12 has been crazy weird, just like normal
- ESPN leaves Arizona in 9th in their most recent Pac-12 Power Rankings
- Paul Magloire will be the talk of the town over the next week. Gabe Encinas wrote this thing on him, and I'm assuming Daniel Berk wrote this for ArizonaWildcats.com
- Not many people were in the stadium to see the intro video, so here's your chance
Basketball
- UCLA is about to have an academic scandal on their hands
- There are apparently ZonaZoo tickets available for Saturday's Red-Blue Game
- If you didn't hear, T.J. McConnell had a game-winner for the Sixers on Saturday. I've been looking for video, but haven't had any luck finding it
Other sports
- Women's soccer got swept in L.A., losing 3-1 to USC. Their magical start has come to a crashing hault
- Men's tennis went 3-2 in their final day of competition in New Mexico
Tucson news
- Someone drove a van into a lake on the east side. Lakeside Lake, which is a name that makes no sense at all
- More shootings on I-10 in Phoenix, but these seem to not be related to the goings on last month
- I hope Tucson joins these cities that have decided to change Columbus Day to something not celebrating the genocide of an entire hemisphere of people
